Pedunculated Adenoma of the Colon This specimen represents a resected portion of the descending colon. A singular lobulated mass, connected to a 4cm stalk, arises from the mucosal surface. Microscopically, the mass consists of connective tissue enveloped by hyperplastic glandular epithelium of colonic type, exhibiting focal nuclear atypia. It exemplifies a tubular colonic adenoma. Pituitary Adenoma Sliced sagitally to the right of the falx cerebri, the brain specimen reveals a 4cm chromophobe adenoma, replacing the pituitary gland. The tumour’s pale brown, homogeneous cut surface, with an upper haemorrhagic area, causes midbrain displacement, sphenoid bone erosion (enlarging the sella turcica), and compression of the optic chiasm. Villous Adenoma of the Colon A 15 cm colon segment longitudinally opened to reveal a large sessile tumour with a velvety surface, measuring 11 x 7 cm. It extends close to the distal resection margin, with normal mucosa and unremarkable serosal surface. Histological examination confirms a villous adenoma.
